EL Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) a través de su delegación Chihuahua, informa sobre la importancia mantener horarios estables para consumir alimentos, pues hacerlo de manera desordenada puede generar incluso problemas de sobrepeso u obesidad.
Zammia Liheh Méndez López, nutricionista adscrita la hospital Morelos (H.G.R. 1) del Imss, señala que desayunar, comer y cenar en horas distintas cada día genera un incorrecto funcionamiento de la digestión, absorción de nutrientes, distribución de la energía, el metabolismo se vuelve lento y el cuerpo acumula grasa.
El fijar horarios estables para alimentarse ayuda al cuerpo a gastar la energía que consume en tiempos determinados; también es importante hacer ejercicio diariamente para utilizar esa energía, ya que las calorías sobrantes se convierten en grasa que se almacena en el abdomen, brazos o piernas.
Es importante no salir de casa sin haber desayunado, recomienda hacerlo por lo menos una hora después de haberse levantado y no después de las 9 de la mañana, procurar un refrigerio entre las 10 y 11 horas, efectuar la comida entre las 2:00 y 4:00 de la tarde y cenar por lo menos dos horas antes de ir a dormir.
A lo largo del día los alimentos deben incluir frutas, verduras, fibras, productos animales y procurar la carne blanca en cantidades pequeñas; los desayunos deben ser generosos, las comidas regulares y la cena muy ligera compuesta de cereales integrales y leche mientras que los refrigerios entre comidas deben ser pequeños y bajos en calorías, pueden ser fruta, verdura, almendras o nueces.
En ocasiones las personas adoptan hábitos como el dejar de cenar con la creencia de que bajarán de peso, esto no es recomendable por que en la noche son muchas las horas de ayuno y el cuerpo buscará la manera de almacenar grasa para compensar la falta de alimento.
Finalmente, el Imss recomienda acompañar toda alimentación saludable con actividad física ó ejercicio, a veces tan solo una caminata de 30 min al día es suficiente para quemar energía y mantener el metabolismo en equilibrio; para quienes se les dificulta la actividad física por cuestiones laborales, se les recomienda levantarse de su lugar por lo menos cada 20 minutos para que no estén sentados durante toda la jornada.
